Words from your AHK
I must apologise for the number of emails you have been getting from the NZGBA in recent times – it really has been one event after another. Not surprising though as it is not every day that we celebrate something as momentous as 20 years since the Berlin Wall came down. Frankly I just wish I could be in Berlin on the 5th November – the band U2 is playing in front of the Brandenburg Gate – wow!
So now that you know my favourite band, time to move onto more serious news…
The German Renewable Energy Delegation is absolutely confirmed now.
There will be a one day conference organized in Auckland on the 30th of November at the Hyatt Hotel at which experts from both the New Zealand and German renewable scene will present on latest developments. This will be followed by company presentations from the German delegates.
New Zealand companies interested in learning more about the technology developments coming out of Germany are encouraged to attend.
All information pertaining to this delegation is presently being loaded on our website.
Kind Regards
Monique Surges
CEO,
New Zealand German Business Association Inc.

Memorable Events
German National Day
Thomas Meister, the new German Ambassador in Wellington, has started his job at a time, where memorable events are lining up on the horizon. Due to the fall of the wall 20 years ago, the celebration of the German National Day commemorated the event. Around 250 guests, including United Future's Peter Dunne, followed the invitation of Ambassador Meister and gathered at the National Day function at the Wellington Intercontinental Hotel, where the Goethe Institute's artistic reproduction of a piece of the Wall and a poster exhibition reminded everyone of the unforgettable days in late 1989 leading to Germany's reunification.
