Oktoberfest 2009 Wrap Up

Even in times of recession our Oktoberfest Beerhall filled with over 300 people on Friday the 18th September 2009, for a night of good German food and drink, masses of entertainment, beautiful BMW cars on display, a smattering of traditional dress and general joviality all around.

Kirsty
McKenzie introduced the crowd to our recipient charity. Her
beautiful song then resounded through the Beerhall with many a
donation flowing into the bucket. Generous members of the New
Zealand German Business Association supplied many wonderful items
for the silent auction increasing the final amount to just under
$5000 to be handed over at the next NZGBA event.
The evening then went on to major hilarity watching grown men entertain the crowd in Tutus thanks to the Steinband antics, Miss Germany promising to “vhip” anyone who got out of line, and finished with a round of dancing to the tones of Rodger Fox Band and Erna Ferry.
